Droga5 generously approached us with the opportunity to develop a series of 3D rich media ads for Activision's new game, Tony Hawk: Ride.
Focused on highlighting the game's skateboard-like peripheral, the challenge of the ad was in its need to integrate an interactive photo-real CG model into a lightweight Flash media unit. To produce the best results, a finely detailed high density model was first constructed, textured, lit and baked. Then, with the help of our proprietary Large-Banner-Lubrication System (LBLS), the mesh was expertly reduced to fit within the working limitations of a Flash environment. The result of this professionalism was a super low-density model, easily sustained by a rich media banner, wrapped in the skin of its fine looking high definition former glory.
Additionally, we were fortunate to be offered the production of a broadcast CG animation for the end title of the television spot being created by The Mill. Having already produced a perfect model and texture set, we accepted the job with enthusiasm and quickly generated our breakthrough performance into television advertising.
Spot by The Mill, amazing end card animation with CG board by Hook! Don't blink, it's our first four seconds of broadcast CG.
