Love is in the air! We couldn't have been more excited for our friends at Eleven when they collaborated with Virgin Group airlines to make a groundbreaking short film that tells the tale of a whirlwind airplane romance. The film was the first ever to be filmed at 35,000 feet, covering three continents and 28,000 miles. After premiering at the LA Film Festival, the Rom-Com needed a suitably sweet place to live online.
Joining forces with Eleven, we developed a parallaxing experience with finely crafted animation details that worked to house the one-of-a-kind film as well as showcased the unique features of the fashion-forward airlines. The end result was a simple (yet stunning) engagement that went on to win a People’s Choice Webby.
"Departure Date" was shot alongside Virgin's real passengers on regularly scheduled flights. Pretty cool!
